Rules
Rules run on new emails right after they arrive, before you see them. Create them under Settings → Rules.
A rule has conditions and actions. Conditions look at From, To, Subject, Body or Has attachment, with contains, does not contain, equals, starts with or ends with, and match all conditions or any of them.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Move to | Moves the email to a folder |
| Label | Adds a label |
| Mark as read | Marks it read |
| Flag it | Flags it |
| Forward to | Forwards it to an address |
| Reply with template | Answers with one of your snippets |
Apply to existing mail runs a sorting rule on what is already in the inbox, with an Undo. Rules that only forward or reply are not applied to old mail.
Out-of-office reply
Under Settings → Mailboxes, a mailbox can answer by itself while you are away: set the subject, the text, and the dates from and until.
It replies once per address per day. Mailing lists and robots get no reply at all, so two auto-responders never answer each other forever.
