Deliverability

Your own link domain

Links in campaign and newsletter emails, the unsubscribe link and the tracking image go through the installation's address. Receivers judge every link in an email, so many senders sharing one link address share its reputation too. Your own link address keeps it yours: emails from @example.com carry links through link.example.com.

Connect it

Under Deliverability → Your own link address:

  1. Create a CNAME record at your domain, from the name you chose to the installation's address.
  2. Serve that name with a certificate on the server that runs mailrust: add it to your web server or hosting panel, or to MAILRUST_DOMAIN when mailrust serves HTTPS itself.
  3. Enter the host name and press Check and connect.

mailrust connects the name only if it answers there with a valid certificate. The checks say what is wrong: the name was not found, it points into an internal network, something else answers there, or there is no valid certificate.

If it stops working

mailrust checks the name regularly. If it stops answering, new emails carry links through the installation's address again, and you are told. Links already sent keep pointing to your name, so keep it working.
