mailrust comes in two editions. Mail is free: the whole mail client on any number of mailboxes and people. Business adds the tools for sending at scale and for teams, and is turned on by a license key.
What each edition includes
| Mail (free) | Business | |
|---|---|---|
| Inbox, search, rules, contacts, calendar, tasks | Yes | Yes |

| Writing assistant with your own AI key | Yes | Yes |

| Outreach and its API | Yes | |
| Newsletters and their API | Yes | |

| Single sign-on settings and the audit log view | Yes |
Without Business, these sections say what they do and how to turn them on. Mail is never affected.
Try Business
An administrator can start a 14-day trial once per installation: open Admin, then License, and choose Try Business for 14 days, or use the same button in any Business section. No card and no account are needed.
Install a license key
A key starts with mrl1. and arrives by email. Open Admin, then License, paste the key and choose Install key. Line breaks from the email do not matter.
From the server:
sudo -u mailrust mailrust license set 'mrl1.…'
sudo -u mailrust mailrust license
The key is checked on your server against mailrust's signature. mailrust does not call home: the check needs no internet, and a key that was changed in any way does not install.
When a license ends
- For 7 days after the end date Business keeps working, and the License section shows when it turns off. Renew in that week and nothing stops.
- After that, Business turns off. Campaigns, newsletters and warm-up pause where they are and continue once a new key is installed. Your data stays.
- Mail keeps working the whole time: reading, writing, search, rules and everything in the free edition.
- People outside keep their rights: unsubscribe links, subscription confirmations and booking pages always work.
Mailboxes
A license names how many mailboxes it covers; mailboxes that are turned off do not count. If more are connected, Business keeps working: the License section shows a warning, and the difference is counted at renewal.
