The message
Compose (or C) opens a new message. Addresses become chips as you type, with suggestions from your contacts and the shared directory. Pick the sending address under From if you have several; add more sender addresses for a mailbox under Settings → Mailboxes → Sender addresses.
Drop files onto the message to attach them, paste or drop an image into the text to put it inline, and add emoji from the panel.
Drafts save themselves. Close keeps the message in Drafts.
Sending
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Send | Sends after the time to undo, 10 seconds by default; Undo brings the message back |
| Send later | Picks a date and time; the message waits in Outbox until then |
| Send and archive | In a reply: sends it and moves the original email to the archive |
mailrust warns before it sends when the text mentions an attachment but none is attached, when the subject is empty, and when you reply to all on an email you received as a blind copy.
Forwarding
Forward an email in the text, with its attachments, or Forward as attachment to pass it on exactly as it arrived.
Signature and snippets
Set a signature for each mailbox under Settings → Mailboxes. Save texts you type again and again under Settings → Snippets and insert them from the message.
Encryption
With OpenPGP keys set up under Settings → Encryption, tick Encrypt this message or Sign this message before sending.
With the assistant
The writing assistant drafts a reply from a few words, rewrites what you typed, checks for mistakes and translates. See Writing assistant.
